Research Interests

Dr. Monica A. Haddad is a Professor of Community and Regional Planning at Iowa State University. She specializes in geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial analysis applications for planning issues. Climate justice and social justice are the driving forces of her scholarship. She frequently uses GIS as part of her methodological approach. Her work has been published in journals such as Applied Geography, Frontiers in Sustainable Cities, The Professional Geographer, and Economic Development Quarterly. She received her PhD and master’s degrees in urban and regional planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
